I ummm.....no like this year's Shine for Singapore.
It's so....Idol-ey. It's just not the sort of music that makes me smile. It made all my goosebumps run amok though. I really don't think it very original as far as sheet music and video production go.
I like this cheesy ditty commissioned by the National Heritage Board. It's so corny, can!
But I feel that it's more real. Well, somebody in there played the guitar pretty well.
It celebrates the achievements of Singaporeans you and I can identify with. And it's definitely an original production.

I think NDP songs these days don't have the singalong quality about them. Rather forgettable melodies and lyrics. Unlike Clement Chow's stuff from the late 80s...everyone knows the words to Count on Me Singapore! :)
this one is quite clever.
the "we can be heroes" refrain is a direct copy frm david bowie. so is that scene which mirrors beatles' sgt peppers album cover.
