It's The Company That Matters

It's been 2 years since I last stepped into Ikoi at Miramar Hotel.

A colleague's birthday lunch offerred an opportunity for me to try the food.

Frankly, I was a little disappointed. The standards had certainly dropped by many notches. Then again, how good (or fresh) can the food at Japanese buffets be?

(I freely admit that I'm a major snob where Japanese food is concerned. I staunchly believe in kaiseiki and omakase meals.)

I take scant comfort in that, imho, Ikoi is still a leetle better than many Sakae and some Sushi Tei outlets.

That said, I really enjoyed the company.

The company's something really warm that totally makes up for the food.

As far as Jap buffets go, you'd be able to do slightly better with Hanabi (King's Arcade, Odeon Towers, Vivocity).

Stay away from "Dong dong dong" Kuishinbo!!!
