The Big Move

With a major renovation carried out to a large office in the building, a business unit had to be disseminated to various smaller rooms re-created as make-shift offices.

Some teams had to be squashed into little meeting rooms. For the past 6 weeks, saying "excuse me" while navigating past colleagues, chairs and cardboard boxes have become the norm.

We have just received news that our new office is almost ready. We go on regular "tours" to the new office cubicles, admiring the cheery colours and enjoying the newness of the dividers and cupboards. We're excited.

Part of us though, will miss the camaraderie forged through the close proximity we found ourselves in. We will miss listening in on each other's conversations, laughing collectively at funny comments, shouting out to each other when there's food to be shared, and having spontaneous team discussions. We will miss knowing exactly when a teammate is unwell, or stressed, and responding with appropriate caring behaviour.

So much this renovation has done for us.

We don't think this is an experience easily forgotton.

that's really heartening to know that a supposedly inconvenient thing can have some good come out of it...

have also seen the new office, looks really nice. I think the main beneficiaries are the excutives, their cubes looks way bigger than the old ones

it's always about perspectives and how you choose to see it.

a positive take will go a long way in getting things done fast and merrily for the team! aye!
